Position Overview
A HHA provides in-home assistance to clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders, while also offering companionship and emotional support, all under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional; they monitor client health status, reporting any changes to the supervisor, and may also accompany clients to medical appointments.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal care assistance: Assisting with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility needs.
- Companionship and emotional support: Engaging in conversation, providing social interaction, and offering emotional reassurance.
- Meal preparation: Assisting with meal planning and preparation, including special dietary needs.
- Light housekeeping: Performing tasks like laundry, dishwashing, and tidying up living spaces.
- Medication reminders: Prompting clients to take medications as prescribed, following proper procedures.
- Vital signs monitoring: Taking vital signs like blood pressure and temperature as needed.
- Transportation assistance: Accompanying clients to medical appointments, errands, or other outings.
- Reporting changes in condition: Communicating any significant changes in client’s health or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of care provided

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or completion of a Home Health Aide training program
- Background check and CPR certification may be required
